Frequently Asked Questions
Which appointment is right for you?
The most important answers about our measurements and your appointment booking.
What is the difference between spectacle prescription assessment and Eye Health Check PLUS?
During spectacle prescription assessment, we precisely determine the values required for your glasses. The Eye Health Check PLUS also includes this spectacle prescription assessment and supplements it with additional measurements and screenings. These include, among others, intraocular pressure, corneal thickness, anterior chamber angle, examination of the anterior eye area, screening of the eye lens for possible opacities, as well as high-resolution retinal images.
Is spectacle prescription assessment included in the Eye Health Check PLUS?
Yes. The Eye Health Check PLUS includes precise spectacle prescription assessment, including wavefront measurement. You do not need an additional appointment for this.
What else is examined during the Eye Health Check PLUS?
In addition to spectacle prescription assessment, we measure, among other things, intraocular pressure and corneal thickness, examine the anterior chamber angle and important areas of the anterior eye, screen the eye lens for possible opacities, and take high-resolution images of the retina. The results are then discussed personally with you.
Does the Eye Health Check replace an eye examination?
No. The Eye Health Check PLUS is an optometric screening service and not an eye examination. We do not provide medical diagnoses. Even unremarkable results do not rule out an eye disease. If a medical evaluation seems appropriate, we recommend an eye examination.
When is the Near-Vision & Workplace Check useful?
The appointment is particularly suitable if viewing a screen, reading, or other close-up activities becomes tiring or if you need a vision solution specifically tailored to your workplace. We take into account the visual distances and requirements relevant to your daily life.
How much does spectacle prescription assessment cost?
spectacle prescription assessment costs €35. It is a standalone professional service and is also charged even if you select glasses from us afterwards.
How much does the Eye Health Check PLUS cost?
The Eye Health Check PLUS costs €89. Included are spectacle prescription assessment as well as the additional measurements, screenings, images, and personal evaluation.
Can I wear contact lenses before the measurement?
Please do not wear contact lenses for at least 12 hours before a spectacle prescription assessment or a correspondingly marked eye measurement. This helps us avoid contact lenses unnecessarily affecting the measurement result.
What happens if something unusual is found during the screening?
If our measurements, observations, or images show unusual findings that should be medically evaluated, we recommend an eye examination. Further evaluation can be arranged upon request through our ophthalmologist network.
